Services
Products, custom development, rollout and AI consulting
We build software in Karlsruhe, Germany, for OT, laboratories and data centres. Our products are free under the MIT licence; we earn our money with support contracts and custom development – no dependency on us, no cloud requirement.
01
Our own products with a support contract
Our software for OT, laboratories and data centres is free under the MIT licence – no cloud requirement, no telemetry. Teams that run it in production get a response by the next working day, bug fixes first and notes before every release through a support contract: €18 per device per year, one contract per fleet.
We build software to your requirements: .NET, Windows services and desktop applications, Linux systems and Android apps for industrial devices. You receive source code and documentation – and stay independent of us.
03
Rollout and operation in regulated environments
Where software has to be validated, for example in pharmaceutical production under the GxP rules of good manufacturing practice, we support rollout and operation: hardening Windows machines, defining roles and permissions, providing documents for qualification and validation. The validation itself remains with the operator.
04
Introducing AI in your company
Where does AI really help in your operation, and where not? We look at your workflows, pick suitable tools and introduce them together with your team – from the first trial to daily use, with your data and without a cloud requirement where that matters.
Fields of expertise
From PLCs to applications – with links to our free tools and libraries.
9 products in 5 product lines: the new products free of charge under the MIT licence, plus the proven in-house developments Informant, CallCenter and ModbusExplorer. Every product has a user interface in English, German, Spanish, French and Chinese. Support is available with a support contract at €18 per device per year.
Available now
The Android apps on Google Play, ModbusExplorer as a download; Informant and CallCenter we set up for your plant.
Industrial Kiosk Browser – kiosk browser for rugged Android devices from Zebra and Honeywell: barcode scans into web forms, allow list, kiosk mode, MDM.
Fast, reliable data entry on rugged Android devices.
On-screen keyboard for rugged Android devices from Zebra and Honeywell: big keys for gloves, scan key, F1–F24, configured by MDM, no internet permission.
Transparent lock screen for Windows: keyboard and mouse locked, screen visible, programs keep running – with Entra ID, e-signatures and a signed audit log.
Riegel is an offline security baseline check for plant, lab and control-room Windows PCs: read-only, 153 rules, justified exceptions and a report to sign.
Four environments where machines are not simply locked, software is not simply installed and permissions are not simply granted. For each we provide tools whose results can be checked and signed off.
Pharma and GxP
Screens in production and QC must stay visible but be locked against unauthorised input – and every release needs a signature attributable to a person.
With Vitrine we provide a transparent screen lock with an audit trail and electronic signatures, and with Riegel we check the hardening of the Windows machines – as documents for your validation, without a compliance claim.
Web apps have to run in kiosk mode on rugged Android scanners, with barcode scans typed straight into the input field and a keyboard that works with gloves; the Windows machines on the line must be hardened.
We provide Industrial Kiosk Browser and Industrial Keyboard, both configured centrally through your MDM and without telemetry, and with Riegel a hardening check that reads offline and changes nothing – and with Informant, CallCenter and ModbusExplorer the alerting, telephony and commissioning that have been running in plants for years.
Measuring stations keep running unattended and still must not be operated; samples, instruments and batches carry barcodes that have to be read on the PC.
With Vitrine we provide a lock behind which every program stays visible and keeps running, and with Lupe a scanner that reads QR codes and barcodes from a webcam, the screen, files and the clipboard – offline.
Who may access which file share is hard to trace through nested groups; audits ask for a report to sign off and for hardened servers.
With Zutritt we provide a permissions report that resolves share and NTFS permissions down to the individual person, and with Riegel a hardening check for Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2025 – and with Informant and CallCenter alerting and telephony for round-the-clock operation.
Software from Karlsruhe for production, laboratories and data centres.
ICT Baden GmbH builds software for environments where computers run for a long time and rarely have someone
sitting next to them: plants, laboratories, warehouses, server rooms.
We are a small team with short paths: whoever writes to us gets an answer from the people who build the
software. We work with large corporations as well as mid-sized companies – on site in Karlsruhe or remotely,
whatever the plant allows.
