Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
As a rule, our website can be used without providing personal data. Where personal data (for example name, address or email addresses) is collected on our pages, this is done on a voluntary basis wherever possible. This data is not passed on to third parties without your express consent.
Please note that data transmission on the internet (for example when communicating by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

What this website processes
- Static pages. The website consists of pre-built HTML pages. There are no forms, no user accounts and no comment function.
- No cookies. The website itself does not set any cookies.
- No tracking. No analytics, statistics or advertising services are used and no third-party content is embedded (no social media plugins, maps or videos).
- No external fonts, scripts or CDNs. Fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are served from our own server. Apart from delivery via Cloudflare (see below), no data is transmitted to other providers when a page is loaded.
- Light or dark. If you choose the light or dark theme with the switch in the header, your browser stores this choice locally (localStorage, entry “theme”). It is not transmitted to us and can be deleted via your browser settings.
- Language. If you switch the language with the “DE | EN” toggle, your browser stores this choice locally (localStorage, entry “lang”). On the first visit to the home page, the page checks the language set in your browser in order to show the English version where appropriate; nothing is stored and nothing is transmitted to us.
- Video. The video on the home page is hosted on our own server and is only loaded when you play it.
- Email links. Buttons such as “Send enquiry” open your email program. The website itself does not transmit any data.
- Directions map. The map in the “Directions” section is a ready-made graphic on our own server (aerial image by the State Office for Geoinformation Baden-Württemberg, routes based on OpenStreetMap data). No third-party map is embedded and no connection to OpenStreetMap, Google or Apple is made.
- Links to other websites (for example GitHub, modbus.de or the route planners of Google Maps, Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap under “Directions”) are only loaded when you click them. The route planner links contain only our address as the destination, no information about you. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies there.
Server log files
The web server automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are:
- IP address of the requesting connection
- time of the server request
- requested page or file, status code and amount of data transferred
- referrer URL
- browser type and version and the operating system used
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website, in particular in detecting and fending off attacks and in troubleshooting.
The log files are stored on our own server, deleted automatically on a regular basis and not kept longer than necessary for these purposes. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.
Delivery via Cloudflare
This website is delivered via the network of Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) as a proxy and tunnel. In doing so, Cloudflare processes the connection data required for the transmission, in particular your IP address. Our server receives the requests through the tunnel; its log files record the IP address of the tunnel connection.
For plain delivery, Cloudflare does not set a cookie. Only if Cloudflare classifies a request as a possible attack
and puts a security check in front of it may it set technically necessary cookies for that purpose
(__cf_bm, cf_clearance). These serve solely to fend off attacks, contain no usage profile
and do not require consent (Section 25 (2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG).
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure, fast delivery of the website protected against attacks. Cloudflare acts as a processor on the basis of the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum; for transfers to the USA, Cloudflare relies on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Contact by email
If you write to us by email, we process your details (email address, name, content of the message) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry is aimed at a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data once your request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser's address bar starting with “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.
When encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Your rights
You have the following rights towards us as the controller:
- access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise them, contact us at the address or email address given in the imprint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany, baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of the contact details published under our imprint obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising, for example spam emails.
